    Drop-In Classes

Drop-in classes do not allow pre-registration so plan to pay when you arrive at class. Exact change is appreciated.

$14 for Non-Members; $12 for Members

The 7:30 Conformation class is not held on the 2nd Thursday of the month when we have our membership meeting.

    Monday Evenings

    Duration - 8 classes:   1/7, 1/14, 1/21, 1/28, 2/4, 2/11,  2/18, 2/25

    Prerequisite: Must have current vaccinations appropriate to the age of the puppy. This is for the little ones, ages 3 to 5 months.

    Description: Class content includes: confidence building, leash manners, introduction to basic commands and answers to basic puppy questions. Puppies learn how to behave in the presence of other dogs. Puppy class does not include “puppy playtime”. A puppy information booklet is included in the price of the class.

    Description: This class works on improving the dog’s response to commands, moving the dog and handler to the next level of skill and understanding. Off lead work is introduced for dogs that are ready. This is a structured class that builds teamwork between the dog and the handler. This class follows Beginning but it is also an excellent class for the dog and handler that have been away from training and need to brush up on their skills.

    Description: This class is offered for owners who want to expand their dogs’ skills.  Class content is adjusted to match the skill level of the class registrants.  This class will provide skills for working towards a CGC certificate or competing in Agility, Rally or Obedience, as well as  providing real-life skills that make your dog a joy to have in public.  Skills may include fine tuning heeling, increased attention even in distractions, hand/voice signals from a distance, recalls and more.

    Prerequisite: Dogs need to be solid on basic Novice exercises. Handlers and dogs should already be familiar with Open or Utility level exercises. This class is only offered occasionally during the year.

    This is a skills practice class. The instructor will provide feedback for polishing and problem solving on exercises as needed. It is the student’s choice as to what exercises they want to work on. The distractions of other dogs working a variety of exercises at the same time mimics some of the situations found when showing your dog. Stations will be set up for individual practice. Novice students starting Open exercises are welcome.

    Wednesday Morning

    Duration - 8 Weeks: 1/9, 1/23, 1/30, 2/6, 2/13, 2/20, 2/27, 3/6 (no class on 1/16)

    Prerequisite: Beginning class or equivalent. Dogs must be under control with other dogs in a class with lots of diverse activity.

    Description: This class will introduce the basic obstacles found in Agility: A-frame, dog walk, jumps, pause table, tire jump and the teeter-totter.  It will include some basic sequencing between obstacles as the dogs progress.  Class will also include basic obedience skills associated with the necessary control required in Agility. 

    All participants will be required to help with set up and knock down of the agility obstacles as some require more than one person to set up.

    Description: This class includes the introduction of basic commands, the practical use of commands, understanding your dog and resolving problem behaviors. Emphasis is on applying what is learned to real life so that you have a well–behaved pet that you can enjoy.
