Prerequisite: Dogs must have successfully completed a Fit Dog Level 2 class. The skills in Level 3 will build on the foundations from the Level 2 class
Description: The AKC FitDog program was developed in conjunction with Blue-9 pet products to offer instruction to help keep your dog in shape. Students will learn proper form and safety while doing various exercises to improve their dogs' balance, flexibility, stamina and overall body fitness. Many of these exercises are also the basis of many fun tricks
Level 3 skills include: All 4 Paws On, Figure 8 Around Cones, Bow to Stand, Spins, Pivot to Side stepping, Tuck Sit to Kick Back Stand, Elevated Nose Touch on Balance Equipment, Sidestepping, Rear Leg Stretch, Down-Stand-Down on Balance Equipment, Ipsilateral Target.
Dogs will need a well-fitted flat collar or martingale. A list of home equipment options will be provided. A passing score in the class fulfills one of the categories for FitDog Titles and is required to earn titles. AKC Fit Dog titles are non-competitive. Dog owners may choose from different activities to earn titles. More details will be provided during classes.
While there are club chairs and crates available students may want to bring their own.
