Club  Calendar

Due to  building space and parking limitations, we cannot accept walk-in registrations. You must be registered prior to the start of class in order to attend.

For answers to any questions regarding registration, please email our registrar.

There are classes throughout the week. For a complete listing of daily activities switch to calendar view. To register for a class session , click on the class you are interested in on the calendar below.

When attending classes, if your dog needs to pee or poop they MUST use the dog run in the corner of our parking area.  This is not optional.  If your dog needs grass or a fence, stop at a park somewhere before arriving at our building to let the dog "take care of business". 

PARKING RESTRICTIONS: All daytime parking must be in front of our training building at the back Northeast corner of the parking lot. Evening parking can include the area in front of the Ice Company.  No exceptions.  Parking is limited and must be rotated between classes.  Please limit visiting at the cars after class as we need to make those spots available for the class that follows you.  PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY IN THE ENCLOSED PARKING AREA!

    Duration 8 Weeks:  October 21, 2023 to December 16, 2023

    Description: This class includes the introduction of basic commands, the practical use of commands, understanding your dog and resolving problem behaviors. Emphasis is on applying what is learned to real life so that you have a well–behaved pet that you can enjoy. Commands taught include, responding to their name, sit/stay, down/stay, stand, come, "lets go" (basic leash manners), heel and leave it.

    Prerequisite: Beginning  class or equivalent

    Description: Intermediate Obedience

    This class builds teamwork between the dog and the handler. The class follows Beginning and increases the skills taught at that level. It is also an excellent class for the dog and handler that have been away from training and need to brush up on their skills. This class  helps to prepare the handler and dog for Canine Good Citizenship testing and introduces skills needed for Rally I.

    Please note: This class is normally repeated several times for dogs and handlers to master the skills presented.  Dogs must master the skills of heeling (including right, left and about turns)  fronts, right and left finishes, and focus to progress to Rally or Advanced classes.  Dogs and handlers learn at different speeds depending on past experience in training, age of dog etc.

    Duration: 6 sessions;  Nov 13, 2023 to Dec 18, 2023

    Prerequisite: Must have current vaccinations appropriate to the age of the puppy. This is for the little ones, from ages 3 months to under 5 months at the start of class.  Dogs five months and older should register for a beginning class. 

    Description: Class content includes: confidence building, leash manners, introduction to basic commands and answers to basic puppy questions. Puppies learn how to behave in the presence of other dogs. Puppy class does not include "puppy playtime".

    Description: AKC Canine Good Citizen Class

    In this class you will practice the skills required to take and pass the CGC test, which will be administered by an AKC certified evaluator during the final sessions of class.

    Tuesday Mornings – 9:00 am - 10:00 am

    Duration:  5 sessions,  Nov 14, 2023 to Dec 12, 2023

    Prerequisite: Intermediate Class or Instructor Approval.  Dog and handler must  be familiar with and reasonably proficient with the skills taught in Intermediate which include: Heeling including right, left and about turns and dog attention while heeling; reliability on stand, sit and down commands; and a reliable come command with both right and left finishes. Most students have completed several Intermediate Classes to achieve this.  Dogs that have never been in a group class or do not have these skills are not ready for this class. 

    Description: This class is offered for owners who want to expand their dog's skills. Class content is adjusted to match the skill level of the class registrants. This class will provide skills for competing in Rally or Obedience. Information on requirements to qualify in Rally and Obedience will be included. Skills will include fine tuning heeling, increased attention even in distractions, hand/voice signals from a distance, recalls and more.

    Prerequisite: Dog and handler must have participated in the Advanced Obedience I class or have Instructor Approval.  Most students are actively training for Advanced levels of Rally, Open or Utility competition.

    Description: This class is offered for owners who want to expand their dog's skills in preparation for competing at AKC Obedience or Rally Events.  Class content is adjusted to match the skill level of the class registrants.  Skills  include fine tuning heeling, increased attention with distractions and input on what is required to qualify when performing various competitive exercises in Open, Utility or Rally competition.

    Prerequisite: Intro to Agility or equivalent. Dogs must be under control off leash with other dogs in a class with lots of diverse activity. 

    Description: This class is for dogs that have already been introduced to all of the basic agility equipment.  It will include basic sequencing between obstacles and practice the skills that are used to navigate an agility course.  Class will also include basic obedience skills associated with the necessary control required in Agility. 

    All participants will be required to help with set up and knock down of the agility obstacles as some require more than one person to set up.

    DESCRIPTION OF CLASS: 

    Levels: Novice, Intermediate, Advanced and Performer

    Teach your dog the tricks needed to earn the AKC titles Novice, Intermediate, Advanced and Performer.  Your dog will have fun and gain confidence building new skills.  If your dog has a Canine Good Citizen title or certificate, then only five tricks are needed to earn a Novice Trick Dog title.

    Duration 5 weeks: 5 Class meetings; November 21, 2023 to December 19, 2023

    PrerequisiteDog must be proficient with the skills presented in our Intermediate classes: Right, left and about turns,  finish left and right, basic sit  down and stand commands with stays, call fronts and attentive healing for a minimum of 10 feet in a straight line and on turns.

    Description: This class introduces all of the novice rally signs giving information on techniques for executing each exercise, how to run a course and basic training tips as needed. The instructor will cover rules and regulations that apply to rally competition. Novice rally courses will be set up for practice.

    Duration 5 weeks: 5 Class meetings; November 21, 2023 to December 19, 2023

    PrerequisiteDog must be 6 months or older .

    Description: Crate Games, based on the Susan Garrett program. This class will teach a dog to love his crate and willingly choose to go to his crate and stay there. It gives us an opportunity to work on stays, releases, and distractions. Dogs must be at least six months old, and have acceptable behavior working in a group of other dogs. Handlers must bring a hard shelled or wire appropriate sized crate. The dog must be able to sit up comfortably. Handlers must also bring a good supply of food treats ranging from average to extremely high value.

Emphasis is on applying what is learned to real life so that you have a well–behaved pet that you can enjoy. Commands taught include, responding to their name, sit/stay, down/stay, stand, come, "lets go" (basic leash manners), heel and leave it.

    PrerequisiteDog must be proficient with the skills presented in our Advanced classes: Right, left and about turns,  finish left and right, basic sit  down and stand commands with stays, call fronts and attentive healing for a minimum of 10 feet in a straight line and on turns.

    Description: This class introduces all of the rally signs giving information on techniques for executing each exercise, how to run a course and basic training tips as needed. The instructor will cover rules and regulations that apply to rally competition.

    Prerequisite: Dog and handler must have participated in the Advanced Obedience I class or have Instructor Approval.  Most students are actively training for Advanced levels of Rally, Open or Utility competition.

    Description: This class is offered for owners who want to expand their dog's skills in preparation for competing at AKC Obedience or Rally Events.  Class content is adjusted to match the skill level of the class registrants.  Skills  include fine tuning heeling, increased attention with distractions and input on what is required to qualify when performing various competitive exercises in Open, Utility or Rally competition.

    Prerequisite: Intro to Agility or equivalent. Dogs must be under control off leash with other dogs in a class with lots of diverse activity. 

    Description: This class is for dogs that have already been introduced to all of the basic agility equipment.  It will include basic sequencing between obstacles and practice the skills that are used to navigate an agility course.  Class will also include basic obedience skills associated with the necessary control required in Agility. 

    All participants will be required to help with set up and knock down of the agility obstacles as some require more than one person to set up.
