Thursday Evenings, 6:15 PM to 7:15 PM

Duration: 10 weeks, 6 class meetings; 9/19/24 to 11/21/24

NO CLASS ON: 9/26; 10/10; 10/17; 11/14

Prerequisite:  Completed Fit Dog Level 1, Intermediate Obedience, CGC class, OR equivalent. No dogs with unmanaged reactivity.

Description: Engaging in Dog Parkour offers an enjoyable way to stay active with our canine companions as we interact with the surrounding environment. Whether it's natural landscapes or urban settings, dogs can engage in various behaviors such as placing two feet on, four feet on, navigating around obstacles, practicing walking balance, executing gap jumps, and more. This activity not only strengthens the bond and teamwork between you and your dog, but also provides an avenue to conquer fresh challenges in different environments.

As dogs navigate these interactions, they build physical strength, flexibility, and overall conditioning. Moreover, Dog Parkour complements a range of other sports like agility, rally, and obedience.

This introductory class focuses on laying the foundation skills required for achieving the Novice title from the International Dog Parkour Association. These skills can be adapted for dogs under 18 months old.

Equipment: Well fitted flat collar, sturdy 6-8’ leash. Harnesses will be discussed during class. If you have a non-restrictive back clip harness, please bring it to class and we can evaluate if it is appropriate for dog parkour exercises.

Instructor:  Angela Sylvestri

Please Note:

Owners must bring a paper copy of the current vaccination record even if you brought it for a previous class.
